Are Jehovah's Witness children really Ministers?
by RULES & REGULATIONS infrom wikipedia, the free encyclopediain christianchurches, a minister is a man or woman who serves a congregation or participates in a role in a parachurch ministry; such persons can minister as a pastor, preacher, bishop, chaplain, deacon or elder, or as a layperson.
an increasing number of charismatic christians recognize the offices of the five-fold ministry, which they consider a revival of original christian practice.. in protestantchurches, minister usually refers to a member of the ordainedclergy who leads a congregation or participates in a role in a parachurch ministry; such a person may also be called a pastor, preacher, bishop, chaplain or elder.. professional ministers in many religious affiliations are seen as set apart from the community to which they minister through ordination.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Christianchurches, a minister is a man or woman who serves a congregation or participates in a role in a parachurch ministry; such persons can minister as a Pastor, Preacher, Bishop, Chaplain, Deacon or Elder, or as a layperson. An increasing number of charismatic Christians recognize the offices of the five-fold ministry, which they consider a revival of original Christian practice.
In Protestantchurches, minister usually refers to a member of the ordainedclergy who leads a congregation or participates in a role in a parachurch ministry; such a person may also be called a Pastor, Preacher, Bishop, Chaplain or Elder.
Professional ministers in many religious affiliations are seen as set apart from the community to which they minister through ordination. They are often provided a stipend rather than a wage or salary. By way of contrast, ministers of low churches, brethren, or non-denominational churches are often uncredentialled and often uncompensated.
All denominations make some claim to finding their model of leadership (or church governance) in the New Testament. However the variety of relationships is large, ranging from the low church view of a minister as one of the people to that of the minister as priest, set apart and with special authority.
I always found a problem with the WTS teaching that children are Ministers. Can someone scan an article were they claim this?

gawd..could they possibly walk and slower???
by LovesDubs inthis is a life saving work these people are doing???
i stood and watched as a group of jws got out of the ugliest square box of a four-door car in my neighborhood, split up into two pairs and proceeded to do what i have to assume were not at homes.
the two women were walking up the driveway of the home next door to me which hasnt had anyone living in it for five years and i watched just for kicks to see how long it took them to traverse the 100 feet or so to the front door.

I work outdoors and see them walk slower than a turtle. They always walk close to each other, talk and waste time looking thru their service bags to get their reading material out. They always stop on the corner and wait to meet one another and waste time there.
But,do you blame them? The WTS make it mandatory to preach. So they have no choice but to get in their 2 hours and talk ,walk as slow as possible and take coffee breaks.

I know how you feel when you know you don't want to be a member any longer.
My wife has never been a Witness. She will always ask me, ''Why ain't you going to the meeting.'' ''They will kick you out.'' ''They will come after you.'' She has become worse than a faithful Witness wife. I ask her ,"Why don't you go to the meetings 3 times a week,go out in service, attend summer conventions and read all the garbage the WTS teach." She says that since I believed it and got baptized,I should stick with it. What I believed 30 years ago is not what I believe now.

uh, yeah, why would you go if you felt like you don't belong there??? I don't get it. Is is curiosity? Or a hard habit to break? I'm confused!! Sasha My whole family are Witnesses. My mom, brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I see how the whole family treat my 2 cousins who are disfellowshipped. They are not invited to any gatherings,no one went to their weddings and if they are seen anywhere,my family will walk away. I feel that at this time I don't need to be treated like that . One day I will have to decide which is more painful : losing my family or remain in and suffer being a Witness.

Why did they not try to 'Save' me?
by AK - Jeff ini have pondered this question on many occasions.
when i began to have 'doubts' and began to 'question' some doctrine, and particularly the lack of christian love, very little effort was made to 'snatch me out of the fire' as elders are admonished to do.
i have always wondered why we as jw's would spend countless hours trying to start bible studies with 'wordly' people, while at the same time ignoring those who are moving away from dead center of the organization.

I will only speak of my case. The Elders only show up at my house or call on the phone when the C.O. and P.O. are in town. I was told by the biggest jerk of an Elder that the congregation loves me and that they would like too see me at more meetings. He is only kissing the P.O. and C.O. ass. I'll tell you about this Elder and show you the love he has for me.
He will shake members hands and as soon as I approach,he will pretend to not see me and turn around. When I was talking to a brother from out of town,he walked up to him and pulled him away and started talking to him without excusing himself. He once lifted my service bag to see if I was carrying all the books since I'm so weak in the faith. All he cares about is the position he holds in the congregation. I've seen brothers leave and attend other congregations because of him.
The congregation was looking for the 800 lb. gorilla for laying down all the rules and regulations in the congrgation. They sure got it. Four Elders have been demoted because of him. Now,he is Top Gun.
The Elders do things not for the love of the congregation but the love of the position.

I hated every minute at the Memorial yesterday.Seeing members talking less and sitting in their seats earlier. Sisters wearing their best. The 4 prayers were longer than usual. The awful songs and dreadful singing. The emblems passing around like their too hot to handle. The reminders not to eat and drink if you are no part of the 144,000.
I was thinking,''Who are these brothers and sisters who partake and what makes them more special." They are no better than anyone else.
I felt that I no longer belong there. I'm a fake. I need to be more real to myself.

Great video!
I remember 30 years ago outside the venue where the summer assemblies were held, there were protesters with signs similiar to this. I thought that they were crazy. Now,I know we were the crazy ones to believe the WTS.

MY OBSERVATIONS FROM THE MEMORIAL TONIGHT (just got home)
by Mary inwell, as per usual, the memorial talk bored the hell out of me, but i found it, in one way to be an improvement over last years when they had the most boring speaker on the planet there http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/111544/1.ashx this guy at least knew how to speak.
unfortunately, he didn't have much of a script to work with.. there was the mention of adam sinning and mankind needing a redeemer etc., no mention of when the israelites left egypt though.
that's probably the first year i've ever seen where this hasn't been mentioned.

It was more painful than a migraine headache. We all had to go to a hall 1 hour away from my house. There was no parking around. Parked 3 blocks away. Waited for early congregation to finish. Waited 15 minutes in the cold. Sat down. Everyone was quiet. Sang boring song. Bad singing all around.Suffered thru the most boring talk ever. Listened to 4 long prayers. Passed the bread and wine since I'm not worthy. Ended on time. Walked out 1 minute after it ended. Drove home as fast as I could. WHY DO I EVEN GO?
